Parcel Basemap created by the GIS section of Public works.
Created orginally from AutoCad drawing files. Curves are created with AutoCad true curves, straight right-of-way lines are parallel to centerlines. Drawing files are converted from NAD27, state plane coordinate system, zone 2, to NAD27, zone 2. They are then imported into ArcInfo with the DXFARC command. Polygons are built with the CLEAN command using very small tolerances. The conversion is conducted tile by tile and maintained in about 25 separate ArcInfo coverages. They are then 'merged' together into one shape file. Attributes are downloaded from the Assessor parcel database.
