View In:   Map Viewer

Service Description: The Heat Vulnerability Index data was developed by The University of Oklahoma College of Architecture, College of Public Health, and College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences and funded through grant support via the NASA ROSES program. This data identifies which census tracts in Oklahoma City were the most vulnerable to extreme heat from 2015 to 2020 using urban heat vulnerability indicators such as climate, environmental, social-economic, health status, and physiological factors. The index also integrates energy exchange between human and environment, built environment characteristics, and various spatial and mathematical models (e.g., multi-criteria decision analysis) with a goal to facilitate resilient and equitable urban planning and policy-making processes.
