Description: This layer was developed to summarize solar systems installed in Northern Virginia through the Solarize NOVA program from 2014-2024. The layer was created by joining NOVA solar install data with NOVA Zip Codes and clipping to NVRC county/city boundaries. Dissolved by zip code, year and county using pairwise dissolve. Data for counties is summarized by zip code. Zip codes do not follow county/city boundaries, therefore zip codes are assigned to the jurisdiction with greatest land area in the zip code. Layer developed in September 2022 and updated February 2025. Solar system locations are organized by zip code, some of which extend beyond jurisdiction boundaries. Systems that fall outside NVRC boundaries are not included in this summary.
