This layer depicts the USPS zip codes covering Northern Virginia. Northern Virginia includes the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William, and the incorporated cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park. This zip code layer is updated on an as needed basis, which is typically once a year. This latest version was released on February 25, 2026.
The source data that was utilized included GIS zip code layers as published on February 24, 2024 by the City of Alexandria and counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William County and Stafford. Zip codes that extended beyond the boundaries of Northern Virginia into Clarke County County had their Clarke County portion derived using ESRI USA zip code boundaries, of which ESRI had published April 16, 2025 by ESRI.
