Description: SouthernRedBackedVoleVoleOverallRange is an ESRI SDE Feature Class encompassing the observed and predicted range of a population of Southern Red-backed Vole in Colorado. Southern Red-backed Vole is primarily associated with moist and well-developed coniferous forests. They are most abundant in lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) stands, usually between 8,000 and 11,000 feet.This information was derived from species experts. A variety of data capture techniques were used including implementation of the SmartBoard Interactive Whiteboard using stand-up, real-time digitizing at various scales (Cowardin, M., M. Flenner. March 2003. Maximizing Mapping Resources. GeoWorld 16(3):32-35).
