Description: Second-order administrative divisions feature class of Indonesia for joining (linking) to attribute data provided in tables prepared by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Copyright Text: Geospatial Boundaries: International boundaries coincide with the Large Scale International Boundaries (LSIB) dataset from the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Geographer and Global Issues. Available online at http://geonode.state.gov (accessed March 29, 2024). Source: Geospatial data for the second-order administrative divisions of Indonesia were downloaded from United Nations OCHA Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), available online at http://data.humdata.org/dataset/cod-ab-idn (accessed April 19, 2024). Boundary Alterations: The original shapefile downloaded from the United Nations OCHA Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) had 522 polygons and matched the 2020 census regencies (kabupaten) and municipalities (kota) (second-order administrative divisions), after a change to the subnational boundaries by USCB staff: (1) Seven unnamed water bodies and conservation areas were merged with their adjacent second-level administrative areas by USCB staff. The shapefile also contained a polygon for Danau Toba (Lake Toba), which was left in place by USCB staff. This change resulted in a shapefile with 515 polygons, one for each of Indonesia's second-order administrative divisions, and one for Danau Toba (Lake Toba). The U.S. Census Bureau aligned the shapefile's national boundary to the Large Scale International Boundary Line (LSIB) polygon file from the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Geographer and Global Issues. The U.S. Census Bureau cannot guarantee the accuracy of boundary placements.
